Aromatic plants, essential oils or citrus are your allies so that your home breathes a pleasant and natural smell.
Nobody likes to get to a friend’s house and smell everything that should not be smelled. Not only, bathroom smells, which comes out of the toilet … but the smell of moisture that then permeates the clothes, and no matter how much we wash it, the smell does not escape.
The same with those houses.
Here are some tips so that something like this does not happen to you:
1- A bottle with spray.
Fill it with water and add a few drops of the essential oil that you like the most. Remove before use. You can also use lemon juice: dissolve two tablespoons of baking soda in hot water and add half a glass of juice. Let it cool.
2- Oil diffusers.
The most common are composed of a candle that heats a base in which the essential oils are poured. The oil evaporates due to the heat effect of the candle and spreads its fragrance throughout the atmosphere. Do not leave it on when leaving the house.
3- Dry lavender.
Cut the lavender before its flowers wither. Tie the stems and hang upside down in a dry, dark place for a month.
4- Make aromatic bags.
Choose patterned fabrics, such as linens or organza, to allow them to “transfer” the fragrances. Refill and tie them with string. Use them in drawers and cabinets.
5- Ventilate daily.
With 10 minutes is enough to aerate the house. Both in summer and in winter it is convenient. This process is also beneficial for the germs that are going around in the environment to go away.
6- Clean the floor.
Cleaning the floor with hot water and lemon make your house smell better. So that the aroma of the natural air fresheners is distributed throughout the house, place them next to the windows: the current will circulate them.
7- Flowers in the room.
It is one of the most effective and traditional ways. In addition to being natural and decorative, it gives a homely touch to your home. Choose fragrant flowers such as daffodils, roses, jasmine or gardenias, roses. But be careful if there is someone allergic in the house: pollen can be itchy!
8- In the kitchen: Without the smell of food.
Decorate the kitchen with aromatic pots (thyme, basil …). Touch them from time to time as you cook to spread their scent.
