Educating a child is not an easy task. That is something we all know, but that no one, when it comes time understands. Educating a child is a constant improvisation. However, you have to stop sometimes for a moment, and ask yourself whether what you are doing is truly right or wrong.
While it is easier to correct the behavior of other parents with their children, it is much more difficult to correct the behavior of our children with us. The fault is never of the children .. perhaps not even the parents. But, you know very well which things are good and which things are wrong.
Many times we say give the best example for our children, but finally we temper for the reverse. What our children see, our children do.
It is important to spend enough time to teach them how to be good people. If no one had empathy for others the world would be total chaos. It sounds funny and fun at first; worse then, if we think about it … it’s tragic.
Here are 4 Lessons that may be useful to you as a parent:
1- Gender Equality: We do not want our son or daughter to be sexist. We well know the consequences of this type of behavior … bad behaviors like this lead to disparaging women and turning them into objects. It teaches us how we are all the same.
2- Help the poor: If you are in a good economic situation, you can share a little of what you earn with the poor. Teach your child to share too. Maybe someday you will need it too.
3-Teach him to read: read whatever comes into his hands. Books offer new ideas, allow us to leave our customs and try new ones.
4- Demonstrate to him that love and affection are the solution. Tell her that offering love is the key to everything …
5- Tell him to always try to be happy. Tolerating frustration will make you a more pleasant person. This way he or she won´t be a spoiled brat.
