The reality of our contemporary life barely leaves us time to fully enjoy a meal. We are always busy with something more important, and we always forget the fact that we have to eat … why we are always very hungry?
While sometimes the justification is real because you know your boss will not forgive you, the obsession for speed has settled in our minds relegating the space of meals to a mechanical and hurried gesture. Everyone knows that fast food chains (junk food) design their spaces so that we eat faster and leave space for another customer … But although we all despair when someone on our side slowly eats and delays the dessert , patience and tranquility at the table are always mirrors to look at.
We must change our habits with a couple of flexible tips and very easy to carry out:
1- Dedicate the food at least 30 minutes (the estimated time the brain takes to recognize that we are satisfied) and chew 5 to 10 times more food than we usually do.
2- Eat sitting and never standing: to make a correct digestion is convenient to eat sitting and attentive to what we are doing at that time, which is nothing else to eat, and not distract us with television, reading, using the cell phone or arguing : all these things cause a bad digestion.
3- Chewing more every bite we favor better digestion, absorption of nutrients, and we make sure to receive signals that trigger the feeling of satiety that allow us to eat less.
4- Leave the cutlery on the table between snacks and snacks, serve drinks and take breaks by taking sips of water and even use a stopwatch, are other very useful tricks advised by specialists to learn to control the time of our meals: habits are changed through steadfastness and stabilizing them in our day to day repercussions on our well-being and our health.
Remember to slow down a lil´ bit!
