Sleeping it is an essential task, in order to ensure wakefulness: we sleep to be awake the next day, and have energy during daytime.
Although it is a bit overwhelming, we must remember that one third of our life is spent sleeping. That is to say that at the age of 60 years, 20 of them we will have spent sleeping. And the need to sleep well is clearly reflected in our daily acts. If we have not rested correctly during the night, the next day the sleepiness bothers us and does not allow us to be attentive to our activities, conditioning many times our life.
Here are the questions: how many hours do you sleep? Do you rest when you sleep? Do you think you could sleep better but you do not know how?
Here the answer to all those questions: one of the most effective techniques to get sleep and allow our body to recharge energy is acupressure. Acupressure can help us release tension and get a better quality sleep.
So: What points and parts of the body should you press?
Then only 5 points, but that will be enough to start:
1- Feet: the instep of the feet, about 3.5 cm (2 inches) above the membrane between the big toe and the second finger. What you should do here is to make a deep and firm pressure to massage and stimulate it for four to five seconds and three to five times on each foot.
2- Wrists: This point can be stimulated by placing the right thumb on the inner side of the left wrist and pressing the point firmly for one minute and then pressing the point on the other hand.
3- Thorax: in the center of the thorax. This point is known as the Sea of Tranquility and helps relieve insomnia caused by anxiety, nervousness and chest congestion.
4- Head: third eye: located directly between the eyebrows, on the curve where the bridge of the nose meets the forehead. This point helps to relax the central nervous system and relieves anxiety, panic attacks, fear, depression and insomnia. It is also a local point for headache, sinusitis and nosebleeds. To massage it, use the index and middle fingers, doing a transverse massage in the form of a yin-yang symbol.
5- Neck: The pressure point is just before the ear, along the soft section before the neck muscles connect with the jaw line and the base of the skull. To get the most out of this pressure point, use the index and middle finger and press firmly into the depression for 2 minutes.
